I have to admit I've never designed an app of any kind ever but decided to put an idea I had in my mind for a very long time down.
* Fullsize Mockup
* Real Pixels
At my place, my partner and I sleep with (general) white noise on (can't sleep without it these days) and even though I've settled with the one app for some time, I'm still not happy with it (nor the many others on the Play Store). Most of these apps have an overly complicated visual design, adverts, bad looping sounds and a load of other problems, not to mention that they just don't do what I want them to do.
What I've always wanted out of a white noise app:
- On-the-fly turning on/off of individual sounds
- Individual sound volume adjustment
- Overall volume adjustment
- To be able to set how long to play the sound for or idefinitely/until paused/stopped
- Built-in alarm clock
- Easy on the eyes visually, nice and simple
- (Optional) Being able to save "mixes"
Obviously I'm not an app developer though it is something I'd love to do in the future. And as I said above, I'm not an app designer, this is my first go at it, just something to do to have a break from client work.
Thanks Kreativa Studio for the Nexus 5 mockup.
